Tapered Designer Wood Bowl.  Approx. 11″ x 6″.  Made from a neighbor’s Spalted Ficus.  Inspired by mid century modern forms, I turned this wood bowl with a narrow opening to add visual interest which is reminiscent of forms from that era.  Two layers of hand-rubbed tung oil and polished with Tripoli gives this piece a lustrous sheen only achieved with this time-consuming method.
